The Durham Region Association of Realtors (DRAR) reported 417 sales in the first half of August, 2009 - that is an increase of 19% from the 349 sales reported mid-month in August, 2008.
The average selling price climbed another 3% ($281,223) from the $272,788 recorded at the same time last year.
As we start the third quarter, the Durham Region housing market is booming! With a 35% (1,929) decrease in inventory from the reported 2,972 active listings on the market in August, 2008 and steady average selling prices, the market is now opening its doors in favour of the Sellers.
